
In order to dispense hearing devices through any of the government sponsored programs
in the province of Alberta, you must be a registered member of The College of Hearing
Practitioners of Alberta(CHAPA) or a registered audiologist. Regulated members
of CHAPA have completed a diploma program from a recognized education institution
or equivalent documented education, and passed the provincial verification exams.
They are also enrolled and participating the Continuing Competency program as mandated
under the Health Professions Act (HPA) and have completed the continuing educational
hours required under the CHAPA bylaws.
CHAPA is governed under the umbrella of the HPA and has bylaws, code of ethics and
regulations which help facilitate the implementation of the act with our members.
